A lot of new material was presented to me this semester. I only hope that I will be able to retain some of the material. I graduated some college in the mid 90's so just entering a classroom was scary for me. However, I had been thinking about applying for graduate school and a former co-worker recommended this class. This class was ideal for me because is class covers everything I am interested in but had one clue how to do them. Attempting to learn how to use UNIX and the UNIX file and directories pretty much went over my head. I learned how to do a web page which was extremely fun and I hope to learn more HTML and Dreamweaver. I had used photoshop in the past but I would to become proficent in graphics. The Dept of Medicine offers a couple of workshops and I plan on taking all of them.

I was thinking about going into database administration but I struggled HOURS and HOURS with the two databases assignments. Nonetheless, I plan to take the database classes offered. We'll see what happens.
Overall, I was pleased to this course and I was exposed to lots of tools I can use in my current position at the University and my department is open to me using my new skills by updating my department's web site and I am able to assist the researchers in my department being using Access to create a database for all of reasearch patients. Finally, the only assignment which was easy to me was the one using Microsoft Excel.
