have work, will travel
Perhaps one of the "good" things about graduate study is the ability to take your work with you. I can throw a few dozen books, the laptop and some clothes in the car and head out of town. Right now, I'm in Charleston, one of my favorite cities (that's the one in SC, although I'm sure WV has much to recommend it), hunkered down in front of the computer since 6am this morning. Hey, if you're not asleep, you might as well work. Actually, I've been returning emails for most of my 3 and 1/2 hours. It always amazes me how much time it takes to respond to emails; I can talk a blue streak but composing a few lines of text to assorted people somehow leaves me speechless.
After I take my shower and officially start my day, I plan to keep working on my research project. Trying to formulate the study while reading the literature is perhaps not the best way to go about things but time is of the essence here: I have research subjects in mind and I want to graduate before I add any more grey hairs to my head. If I call it multitasking, do I make myself more marketable?
