all and more
As expected, the Sting/Annie Lennox concert was fantastic. Even the opening act (Dominic Miller, Sting's guitarist for 15 years) was great - didn't hurt that Sting came out to sing an acoustic version of Shape of My Heart with him, of course. I have a newfound respect for Annie Lennox; she can put on a show and she's got a voice that just won't quit. After listening to her last night, I couldn't resist the lure of iTunes today, so I've added some great new (and old) stuff to my collection: Pavement Cracks, Little Bird, Legend in my Living Room, Cold, Walking on Broken Glass.
Sting, though...I just love his music: the lyrics, the melodies, the soulfulness, the inescapable pull on your senses. He opened with Sex and Music and didn't look back: If I Ever Lose My Faith in You, Fragile, Seven Days, We'll Be Together (with Annie), Fields of Gold, Desert Rose, Sacred Love, and, of course, Roxanne. The stuff memories are made of: sitting between two good friends, lost in great music, with a cool breeze over the lawn as the clouds moved in and shredded the sun.
