My personal preference would have been to use Maple in many course settings. Indeed, we made excellent use of Maple in my Math 6514 "Industrial Mathematics" course at Georgia Tech. However, because of the options available to students in the campus software licenses at UNC, we will use Mathematica in such instances instead.
