Welcome
to my web page! My name is Meredith Cunningham and I am a senior
journalism major at the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill. I am a native of North Carolina from the small town of Marion
which is located in the western part of the state. I will graduate
in December 2002 and am not exactly sure what will come next.
I have a mixed bag of ideas at the moment, none of which resemble
any permanent career plans. I will be applying to the Peace Corps
and Teach for America in addition to a number of other non-profit
organizations.
I was raised
in a family tree with many branchs. My mother and one of the biggest
influences in my life, lives in Asheville, NC. My grandmother
recently moved there from Mississippi to be closer to us. My father
and his wife live in Butzbach, Germany as of a year ago, following
his decision to join the Army. My brother and one of the best
people I know, is here with me at UNC. He will graduate in May
2003 and most likely go on the medical school. My step-sister,
Brianne, will graduate from East Carolina University in December
2002, but unlike me she has a plan; she will begin teaching first
grade in LeGrange, NC. And finally, Ryan, my step-brother also
recently joined the Army and is stationed in Louisiana.
I have a
number of hobbies that I irregularly indulge in depending upon
how busy I am. The most recent of which is golf. I went to a golf
tournament with my boyfriend and discovered that I actually found
it to be fun. I am a recovering gym rat though I still love to
go whenever time permits. Studio cycling is perhaps one of my
favorite activities, so much so that I decided to become an instructor.
One day, after school, I hope to get involved in fitness competitions.
Reading for pleasure is one of my favorite past times, which is
one thing that I really look forward to after graduation.
