Discussion Questions
1. What type of structure does SGPM have?
Does it contain elements of more than one structure? If so, identify
the dominant structural form. What are the elements of other structural
forms present? (Hint: The model of the relationship between organizational
structure and international strategic opportunities depicted in 7e Exhibit
13.3 p. 493 is relevant to this discussion.)
2. Based on your answer to question
#1, what strategic opportunities do you think SGPM has? In other
words, what are the advantages likely to be associated with SGPM's structure?
3. What problems do you think SGPM encounters
with this structure? In other words, what are the disadvantages SGPM
will face given its structure?
