Cervical Cancer-Free NC

An initiative to end or substantially reduce cervical cancer in North Carolina by increasing HPV vaccination and screening.  Some CCFNC projects:

 

AFIX Evaluation.  Partnership with NC Immunization Branch to improve adolescent vaccine provision.

 

NC Cervical Cancer Resource Directory. 

 

School Heath Center Study.  Increasing uptake of adolescent vaccine in schools with health centers.

 

Sons Study

National study of beliefs about HPV vaccination among boys ages 11-17. 

 

Botswana Study

Collaboration with Dr. Yumi DiAngi, examining HPV vaccine acceptability in Botswana. 

 

Self-sampler Study

Collaboration with Dr. Jennifer Smith, examining acceptability of a mailed HPV self-resting kit for use with high risk, low income women.

CHIME Project

The Carolina HPV Immunization Measurement and Evaluation (CHIME) Project comprises five studies of HPV vaccination decision making and impact. The CDC-funded project is in areas of North Carolina with high cervical cancer rates.   

 

Men’s Study

Study of beliefs about HPV vaccination among men who have sex with men. 

 

South-central NC Intervention

Collaboration with North Carolina health directors on an intervention to increase HPV vaccine uptake.

 

Cognitive Testing Study

Examining the best way to assess beliefs about the HPV vaccine, with partners from the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network.
