| Your assignment is simple: Think about what you want to do
in life. Now I want you to write a three page personal statement
to the admissions office of either Harvard
University, Duke University, Princeton
or Yale convincing them that you should
be admitted to their program after completing your junior year of high
school. Look on these sites and find the academic department that
you anticipate entering. In previous assignments, we wrote persuasive
essays, so you should already know how to do this. If you need a
refresher refer to your first assignment.
Your first page should give them some biographical information about you: where you are from, family history, where you go to school, etc. The second page should highlight your academic, athletic and personal achievements. Any and all awards that you have received are acceptable. Just make sure you are very thorough and explain everything. The third and final page is your chance to convince them that you are worthy of entrance into their university. Feel free to tell them anything you want, but make it sound good! After all, you are trying to gain admission after your junior year in high school. Print three copies of the essay and turn it in. |
