I am a specialist in the fields of international economics and economic development. My international economic research in recent years has followed four paths.

• The international aspects of transition for formerly Soviet economies. 

• The impact of IMF adjustment programs on developing countries.

• The theoretical explanations and empirical implications of international trade between developed and developing countries.

• The effect of globalization on the textiles industry in the US.
