Focus of Presentation
As the author of the seminal article that defined the core requirements of
an Information Commons, Don Beagle will focus the symposium on why an
Information Commons can make such an important impact on information
services on campus. He will consider the idea of the information commons
as an agent of change and differentiate between an information commons and
the all-common computer labs. Finally, Don will point toward the lifecycle
of the Information Commons as it evolves towards new “learning commons”
that are ever more integral to the mission of the college and university.
