Focus of Presentation
Crit Stuart will draw on his
extensive experience with the Library West Commons at Georgia Tech to
highlight campus relationships required to implement an Information
Commons successfully, including collaboration between library staff and
information technology programs on campus. Crit will discuss service
models, the endless little details that make for success, and how
innovation and creativity can improve user acceptance of new approaches to
delivering content and technology support.
Speaker Bio
Crit Stuart, Associate Director for Public Services at Georgia Tech, provides leadership, vision and planning to
support services and initiatives within the Library’s Public Services
departments: Information Services, Circulation, Information Delivery,
Architecture Library, Special Formats & Maps, Collection Development and
Management, Security and Mailroom. He coordinates the Library and OIT
collaboration that is the Library West Commons (LWC); facilitates the
expansion of the LWC to the 2nd floor West; and assists with planning for
the soon-to-be-built innovative learning resources center, and with the
on-going renovation and re-programming of existing Library buildings. He
identifies and supports initiatives within the Library, and in
collaboration with GT partners, to deliver digital content to the desktop
in support of curricula, research, and student retention and success. He
also serves as the Subject Librarian for Music. His presentations include:
“Building a Cohesive, Focused Team,” at the Georgia Tech Leadership
Conference (2003) and “Minding the Generation Gap: Learn How to
Communicate and Work Together Across Generations,” at the Association of
College and Research Libraries “President’s Program”(2002).
