Purpose
To support women doctoral candidates in the final year of dissertation research and writing.

A one-year fellowship stipend of $14,500

Fields of Study
Open to all fields of study except engineering

Eligibility
For women who will complete the writing of their dissertations between July 1, 1998 and June 30, 1999. Candidates must have completed all coursework, passed all preliminary exams, and have their dissertation research proposal approved by November 15, 1997. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Selection
Applications are evaluated on their scholarly excellence, teaching experience, and active commitment to helping women and girls through service in their community, profession, or field of research.
