Results of USNews Online Search for Chapel Hill

This is a summary of UNC-CH Ph.D. and M.A. programs ranked by U.S. News & World Report, posted here for discussion purposes. The list is in no particular order, and some subcategory listings may need improvement. (Suggestions?)

Each program is linked to its listing at U.S. News online; the numerical scores were transcribed by hand, so double-checking via the link is a good idea. This list may not be complete. In addition, some departments were not rated in 1998 and are listed based on their 1997 or 1996 evaluation. For a list of the subject areas that U.S. News rated in each year, see US News Rankings; you also may want to review the magazine's methodology, which gets mixed reviews. (Here's a related Chapel Hill News story. And a UNC press release headlined: 29 graduate, specialty programs ranked highly.)
