                         Assignment:  Complete correspondence set
                         at home.  Read Lunt, pp. 29-32 on jers
                         (through 2.526.

Wednesday, Aug. 26       Go over Problem Set 1.  Sequences of jers
                         and liquids.  Morphohpohnemics (sections
                         on substitutive softening especially)
                         Assignment:  (1) Problem Set 2
                         (morphophonemics); (2) pick up glossary
                         and first text at office and bring to
                         class on Friday.                   
     
Friday, Aug. 28          Special features of OCS morphology: quick
                         survey.
                         Go over problem set 2.
                         Assignment: Attempt to translate first two
