These six lighthouses are all on the east coast of India. The Kalingapatnam photo is from the former web site of the Kolkata (Calcutta) office of the Indian Department of Lighthouses and Lightships (DLL), and the other photos are from the former web site of the Kakinada office. These web sites have disappeared, but copies of the photos were saved by Klaus Huelse. Thanks to Klaus and to Michel Forand for making these images available to lighthouse researchers everywhere.

Santapille Light, built in 1903, is the only lighthouse on this page that survives from the British era; all the others have been built since independence. The Vakalapudi Light is the newest in this group; it replaced the 1879 British lighthouse in 2005.
