credit report
The process of buying a new car is something I didn't quite understand, and who does, before I bought one. I didn't know about all of the red tape and all of the choices. The research involved was enough to make me want to drop out of class and just work on that. Especially with all of the problems with gas prices lately, I have had a lot to think about these last few months.
I decided with the help of my parents that I was going to buy a new car about a month ago. We had been sitting down to dinner one night and all of us we in agreement that I needed some type of car, but not something expendable both for reasons of responsibility and durability. I knew that I wanted a car that would last me for as long as possible and wouldn't die out a year after I started driving it. I knew the costs of simply buying a financing the car, but I had no idea that it would be so difficult to come to that final decision. When I did decide on a car that both fit our budget and fit my own personal standards there arose yet another problem in the whole process. I had never even thought about my own credit but my parents had wanted to put the car in to my name. The only problem is is that I have never had a credit card. So what we had to do was to apply and get a student credit card for me and then fill out a credit report. We just printed one off from a free credit report web site in about ten minutes. Then we could carry on with the process of buying the car which i love by the way.
The last part of the process has really got me thinking about my own finances because I never have before. I have been doing lots of research on reasons for people having bad credit and how to go about doing personal credit repair. I am really glad now that I know some of the ways, such as buying a new car, that people get themselves in to a situation where they have bad credit. Now i know what to avoid besides buying a new car.
