fax server
When fax machines first came out, they were a new and innovative way to send documents via your phone lines. With phone charges being so high and the cost of toner going up, this is no longer the best way to send your documents. There is a new and better way out there now to send documents and at a much lower cost. The method is FoIP (which stands for fax over ip).
Companies have been over the past few years offering VoIP (voice over IP) which is a phone line that runs through your computer without use of a phone carrier. This method allows you to use your internet connection to make phone calls with just the use of a simple to install adapter. The monthly charges only run about $25.00 per month to use this service which compared to the average phone bill is considerably less than you are probably paying. There is no additional long distance or international charges and there are no additional costs for services like voice mail or call waiting. This is an all inclusive service with the only difference being it costs significantly less than your current phone service.
Well, very similar to VoIP is FoIP, again you use your current internet service along with a fax server to fax over ip. This allows you to send and receive faxes (through a special phone number assigned to you) over the internet. You receive these faxes essentially in the form of e-mails. This is an extremely effective way to send and receive without having to take your documents and print them to a hard copy before sending them. You can also receive faxes anytime day or night without having to have access to a fax machine. This makes it very convenient if you are away from the office and working. You can send and receive important documents via your laptop in your hotel room or at home.
The great thing is that you can send to and receive from a standard analog fax machine. This means that just because you are using a FoIP system, the people you are dealing with can still send you faxes from their antiquated fax machine.
This step of moving forward will be revolutionary in cutting the high costs of sending and receiving faxes. In these unstable economic times, isn't it good to think that the cost of something is actually going down?
