Holiday-cards

I have a sister in law who makes her own cards. Every time there is an event or holiday, she sends a handmade card. Not computer generated either. A cute one on the best paper. She uses stickers and stamps and glues all little things to them. Then she usually writes on them with those pretty paint markers or gel pens. They are some of the best cards I have ever received. It is nice to know that someone took the time to make this card just for you.

I am a card person. I enjoy sending cards to people for special occasions, especially birthday cards. I really think that this is especially important to do for the older people in your life. Let's face it when you are little everyone makes a big stink about your special day. As we get older though, there is less and less fuss made about a persons birthday. I think this is just wrong. I especially think that if someone doesn't have anybody who will make a fuss over them on their birthday, then that makes the card they get from you even more special.

When I can't be with my family for the holidays, I will usually send Thanksgiving cards to them, saying something like Happy Thanksgiving from across the miles. Just to let them know that even though we can't be together, I am thinking about them and missing them for this holiday.

I send Christmas cards and try to make sure that I at the very least send one to everyone that I receive one from. Sometimes I include a personal note, but I always hand sign my cards. I think it is really important to give that personal touch.

I like to get business birthday cards from people I do a lot a business with. It shows me that they value me and have taken the time to send me a card to say so. If I ran a business I would definitely send my clients or customersbusiness Christmas cards too. I think this is an important way to acknowledge these people and the way they are helping us to succeed.

No matter what or who a card is always a nice way to say I care.
