MEDICAL JOBS REQUIRE STRINGENT BACKGROUND CHECKS
I have worked in the medical field for a long time now. I grew up in a house with a doctor and a physical therapist for parents and began candy striping in my teens. I have always been around medicine and that is just a comfortable place for me to be. I guess that is why I have chosen a career as an RN. While I have been going through school, I decided to pick up a job as a medical receptionist to keep me in the field that I love and know the most about. The one thing that I notice is a big issue in a medical office is recruiting the right people to work with the ill. When people are sick, they are at their most vulnerable, and that is why many of the mentally ill people out there who are looking for victims tend to seek out jobs in the medical profession, especially in the offices that work with the terminally ill, elderly and children. Unfortunately there are a lot of sickos out there, and they are just looking for an opportunity to take advantage of someone who is compromised. This is what makes doing stringent background checks of incoming employees so important. When you are looking to fill a position for medical jobs, you want people who have a clean record, who work well with people, and who are above all else trustworthy. It may sound like we are being too tough on these people, but in this field it is really of the utmost importance to get people who are right for the important work they are going to be doing.
Personally, through working in a medical office, and through the situations that I have seen through my parents as well, I have seen just how important hiring the right person for the job can be. In my current situation, I went through a service that did a complete background check on me, before they would send me on even one job interview. They checked my criminal history, many personal references, as well as even checked my my space page. They were extremely thorough which they said actually scares a lot of people off, but in my opinion it is necessary for the work I do. I really can appreciate it with my background, and I think that if it scared some people off then it must just be because they are hiding something.
