project management software

Ugh I am so tired of using Microsoft excel, I have run my entire business using it for so long, you can only use so many macro’s eventually you just run up against the wall. Man if I could only find some project management software to make my life easier. Software can be so intimidating, you have to spend countless hours learning and reading, it is like you have to take 3 steps backwards to take one step forward. Why is that, here you are in need of solutions and what do people and companies have to do? Take 3 steps backwards, it is so counter intuitive. Why can’t people just create project management software that is truly easy to learn? I was looking at this project manager software and it is so complex, I mean it will take me 40 plus hours to learn the basics, and will probably take me 2-3 months to be able to actually become more faster at what I am currently doing using multiple spreadsheets. It is such a catch 22, I just feel overwhelmed. This is not new I realize that numerous companies go through this same issue, you have to slow down before you can continue to grow, well I just don’t want to do it, I want to grow my business now without stopping or slowing down to learn en entirely new software package. Can I not just have something easy to use that will offer project tracking? I mean really if I can just find some really easy to use project tracking or project management software to make running my business easy without spending countless hours trying to learn it, why can’t someone just make an attachment to Microsoft excel that is easy to use and will offer the project tracking that everyone needs? I have seen a web based project management software similar to excel but it is just hard to learn, this is so frustrating to small business owners trying to grow their business but without the time to learn an entirely new piece of software, so what happens they end up just staying with excel and fumbling through it rather then upgrading their software so long that they can become more effiecnt.
