vacation rentals
Everyone my family decides to take a trip to a foreign country. We have visited every continent except Antarctica. It would not be very fun to visit that continent, but it would be exciting to tell everyone you went there. Anyway, I have physically stepped foot on each of the other six continents and I mean other than just time spent transferring at various airports. It is a fun family tradition. I have seen a lot of beautiful places and met even more interesting people along the way. Since we are traveling so far away for our trips, we like to stay at least for two weeks. This gives us a good amount of time to visit the country or neighboring countries if that is possible. Therefore, we like to find homes that we can use as vacation rentals. Hotels usually cost way too much and are too commercialized. We would much rather stay in a home that also provides a better perspective into the culture of the region. Although we do like to stay in nice places, we prefer to rent homes. The homes always seem to have that extra sense of culture that we enjoy experiencing as tourists. Plus, since we are there for two weeks, it enables us to settle down a little bit and feel at home as opposed to being in an empty hotel room. It was my sister’s idea a few years back. She hated that we always stayed in hotels which were usually in the cities and we never got to experience the feel of the countryside. My parents really liked the suggestion and decided to make it a priority on our trips to stay in a rental. If it was possible and within a reasonable distance, which in most cases it is easy to find vacation rental homes, we would stay in one of them. Ever since, our trips have been very enjoyable. We leave feeling more a part of the country than just some tourists who decided to stop by for a while. You appreciate the place more and really get a better sense of what life is like in that particular country. We try to cook and live in much the same conditions as a traditional native family.
