The Prasads The family shot. My father took a bunch of photos my last day there, just before we left for the airport. Unfortunately, his CF reader was way way slow, and I was only able to transfer a few photos. Well, he told me he had taken only a few. I transfered 20 to his website thinking that would be more than enough: the plan was to get home, download them, and Photoshop them to a smaller more web-appropriate size (he uses Photoshop, but doesn't know how to FTP or change image resolution, and there was no time to go over it in any detail this trip). But it looks like he actually took a lot more than just 20 shots. Oh well ... maybe I'll get my hands on those sometime. On a side note, I did finally manage to get the Halloween pictures my dad had taken last year! He'd tried to email, but of course the files were too large. And as I noted above, he doesn't know how to FTP. I did set up shortcuts on his computer so it should be a straightforward drag-and-drop operation sharing files via his website. Also, installed Composer so he can edit web pages himself (but unfortunately had very little time to show him how again). |

The Chands That's Sunil standing, and my older sister sitting with her two kids Sunita (standing) and Nita. The kids are fraternal twins. Nita has some health issues, but is a sweet little girl: seems to be happy, entertains herself, interacts some with people she knows. What's with the names?!? Must be an Indian thing, or maybe a Prasad thing. You have Ravi and Ravindra. Nita and Sunita. And, now, Savita, Kavita, and Anita. It's all very reasonable - Ravi + Indira --> Ravindra. Sunil --> Sunita. Savita --> Kavita, Anita. There's some family-name reason for some similarities. But everyone all weekend long kept calling people by the wrong name! Including the kids' parents! It was kind of funny, actually. |

The (Ravi)
Prasads My brother's family. That's his wife Savita, and their kids Kavita (who was kind of bratty the last time I saw her a few years ago, but has grown into a very nice young woman) and Anita. Anita is a real cutie - 5 years old, and a girly girl. She has a high-pitched little voice, carries around lip gloss and nail polish, and refers to her backside as "my little bottom" ... adorable little girl! |

In the Backyard Another shot in the backyard. My brother had just bought a BB gun, and we'd taken a few shots at some 2L soda bottles. That worked OK, but when I tried to hit a little cup I kept missing! We just took a few shots each (me, Ravi, Sunil) but it was fun. I wonder about the environmental impact of 6000 BBs, though. They'd put the chairs away, and everyone was kind of milling around. My sister had just given the kids bow and arrow sets from the dollar store. They were running around trying to shoot each other, and here she's pretending to do the same. |
