Low-flow Anesthesia
USE IT! After induction, reduce total fresh gas flow to 1 L or less;
2 L if using sevoflurane < 2 MAC-hrs. Preserves heat and moisture, and
saves money.
Taking Patients to the OR
CRNA's, Residents: DO NOT take patients back to
the OR without confirming that the attending has seen the patient. How?
Look for the attending's
note and signature on the Preprocedural
Assessment Form. You could also talk to your attending! Preop evaluation
by the anesthesia attending is a legal (and more importantly, medical)
requirement.
