OASIS Academic Technology Division

Charlie Green currently supervises OASIS's Academic Technology Division. The main responsibilities of this office are to:

  • Assist faculty in the development of innovative instructional strategies involving technology;
  • Promote the awareness of instructional technology resources available to members of the College;
  • Identify IT tools of wide interest to instructors and support its uses within the College;
  • Help faculty consider how instructional technology can enhance their instructional goals;
  • Provide consultations, training, and documentation which may serve the College's technology-related needs;
  • Evaluate the efficacy and application of instructional technology initiatives;
  • Facilitate collaboration among UNC-CH faculty and other campus units interested in using technology for teaching and research.

Some of the specific services we provide are database and web site consultations, multimedia production and design, including video conferencing equipment and training, Blackboard information and training, and equipment checkout. The Academic Technology office is an active participant in the OASIS Open Source initiative.
