We are a couple of graduate students living in Durham, NC, and recent graduates of the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. Right now, Brendan is working on a PhD in Lichenology at Duke University, and Sarah is getting a Masters of Library Science at UNC-Chapel Hill. We met in our freshman year at William and Mary when we were both playing in a musical group called Friends of Appalachian Music; Brendan plays the guitar and Sarah plays the harp. Throughout our time in Williamsburg, we took several fun Geology classes together, and enjoyed playing music together and going exploring.
We plan to be married in the historic Wren Chapel at the College of William and Mary on June 17, 2006, followed by a reception at the William and Mary Alumni House. This date is special to us because it's the Saturday closest to the Summer Solstice, and also around the time of the Maury River Fiddler's Convention, where our friendship really began.
