Brief: This page contains an article discussing advertising and
its transformation in the past 70 years, specifically beer. The
article contains a wide-ranging discussion on the emergence of the
brewing industries efforts in commercial advertising and discusses

Title: Cultural Values in Beer Advertising: A look at beer commercials
from the UK, the Netherlands and Germany.
Web Address: http://www.stephweb.com/capstone/beer.shtml
Brief: I was hesitant to even read the information presented at
first due to the misspelling of commercial in the title, thinking
the credibility wouldn’t amount. However, the citations and
references on the page are dispersed throughout and the information
is interesting. It is a paper written on a study conducted comparing
different countries and their marketing strategies, mainly if a
standardization of advertising, in this case beer, would be accepted.

Brief: The article on this page discusses the connection made between
college sports, students and alcohol advertising. It is important
to my research because college students are the beginning of the
21-35 age group that the brewing industry targets the heaviest.

Brief: This site is a good place to read up on statistical information
about beer advertising on television including information from
Nielson Media research. The U.S. Department of Transportation is
referred to as well as other independent national studies on college
drinking and underage drinking. It should be pointed out however
that this site is sponsored by Anheuser-Busch, the leading beer
