Sort of reminds me of the old days. Except, Susan would be older,
Shirley didn't have red hair, I wasn't bald but did wear glasses, and none of us were green.

Out in the yard the other day I found 3 distinct holes, each about 1 1/2 inches wide. Around these flew little yellow
jackets like the one above. Yes, those mean little devils were back! One nest is a renewal of one I tried to wipe out last year.
It's in the front. The other two are new and in the back. My first impulse was to spray them with wasp/hornet
spray and I did. It foamed up good. Then I went on the internet to see what other folks did about this problem.
Seems I have two choices - try to
flood them out with water or use chemical insecticides. I have some Sevin 5% dust and
about a gallon of really old bug killer so went with the second option.
That night, just before the usual nightly downpour I poured 1/3 the old liquid bug killer into each hole and then
topped it off with some cement. That and the rain should keep them occupied overnight. The next day, when they dried out,
I applied the Sevin inside and on top of the nest. I used an old plastic catsup dispenser to squirt the powder deep
into the nest through the new holes they had made. And I looked around the yard some more cause there may be more than just
3 nests. Been lucky so far - no stings and no new nests found. Want to keep it that way!
