Consumer Health sites
- Health World Online - HWO is a consumer-oriented
site. Its goal is to provide information to health care consumers so that they may
"self-manage" their care in certain instances. The focus is on preventive or
non-traditional forms of care.
Health Policy Research Indexes
- At the Managed Care Resources
site there are other linked sites that are really helpful for general resources for health
care administrators. We especially liked "Health -related world wide web
servers," since they have 50 or more cool sites: for example, other web sites
specially designed for health care; sites of different organizations such as AHA, AMA, and
CDC; and health-related journals such as JAMA. You can almost find anything having to do
with health care from this site.
- Also, under "managed care providers," a sub link under MCR, there are some
cool managed care provider sites that you can check out. You'll get the overview of how
large managed care providers' design their own web sites--maybe you can even find an
internship or a job from one of these sites. Good source to check out.
- www.cdc.gov contains a wealth of data and statistics on
the health industry, health care finance, and disease patterns.
