about the EPDC
The Executive Program in Health and Population for Developing Countries (EPDC) is an off-campus degree-granting program, taught primarily in Jaipur, India. The program grants Master of Public Health and the Master of Health Administration degrees to mid-career health professionals interested in international health. This collaborative program of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Indian Institute of Health Management Research in Jaipur has received support from USAID, UNFPA, The Rockefeller Foundation, WHO, and others. It is ranked first in the country by NUCEA.

The Program focuses on management, system analysis and leadership; courses are taught by UNC faculty in an intensive two-week format. Non-degree students can take these two-week courses, singly or in groups, as workshops.

The Program also offers graduate students the opportunity to take a semester (or more) abroad in Jaipur. This study abroad program is open to graduate students at Chapel Hill's School of Public Health (at no additional tuition cost) and to graduate students at other Schools of Public Health around the country (at the regular fee).

internet courses at the EPDC
The EPDC is looking into the feasibility of offering most of the courses towards the MPH / MHA degrees via the Internet. Currently, the EPDC is offering its course on Program Evaluation online (February 15 - March 15, 1998). The further offering of additional online courses will be determined in part by the demand shown for such courses.

If you are interested in taking some courses over the internet, or in pursuing a degree online, please fill out our Online Interest Survey.
