In 1993, The Executive Program in Health and Population for Developing Countries competed with other new Continuing Education programs across the country (in the Certificate and Non-Traditional Degree Programs Division) for the National University Continuing Education Association (NUCEA) top ranking. The "New Program" division of the competition is open to any degree program open for four years or less.
Although the EPDC had not yet completed its first year of operation, the national panel of Continuing Education administrators still voted it the top new program by a wide margin.
This award recognizes the EPDC for its innovative content and structure, its relevance to the students it attracts, and its commitment to health service and continuing education.
NUCEA ranks programs nationally every three years.
