Vital Information
...a.k.a.: the All
About Me Page
I love this part…it’s the part where I impress upon you the VITAL
information. By calling it that, I get to pretend that you were gasping
and wheezing for the breath of fresh air that my biography will be for
you. (I made the font reeeeally big, too.) These sorts of pages are
self-serving and slightly egotistical, but somehow, everyone is allowed
to get away with it on their own
webpage.
Hmm...maybe if it is graphically interesting, it will seem less
blantantly narcissistic...maybe not. Either way, I'm proceeding
forward, unabashed and totally unapologetic.
I’m
a PhD student at UNC in the English Department, majoring
in 20th
Century American Literature and minoring in Southern Literature.
I
graduated from the University
of Virginia
(GO HOOS!) in 2000
and worked for two years in a 401(k) Retirement Planning
company doing what the layperson would
call accounting (and I called holding my
breath and
daydreaming about higher education).
My husband Dave and I got married in June 2003. He received
his
doctorate at Duke
University in Math in 2005,
and has
a post-doc position at
the University of Wisconsin-Madison beginning Jan. 2007.
We live in Durham
NC with friends and
family all around,
and are expecting our first child in August!
I think the only (appropriate) way to top off my excursion through
self-appreciation is to post pictures of my cats.

Ahh, yes. That's better.
