SARA'S SUPER CYBERSPACE SING-ALONG
WELCOME, everybody! You've stumbled upon my personal Web page. If you haven't met me before, let me introduce myself. I'm Sara Schairer. (Pronounced Shyer.)
I've used some lines from a few of my favorite songs to organize my home page. Feel free to sing along. Most importantly- Have fun!
"I was born in a small town..."
I'm from El Paso, Illinois. Have you ever heard of it? I didn't think so! It's a small farming community (population 2,500) in Central Illinois. (I graduated from El Paso High School in 1995 with 71 other classmates.) It was a wonderful place to grow up. Nevertheless, I went to college 14 hours away. Don't get me wrong, El Paso is a great little town. But, I'd had enough of the corn and soybean fields.

"In My Mind I'm Going to Carolina"
So, much to my parents' dismay, I didn't go to the University of Illinois. I'm currently a junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and I LOVE CAROLINA!
Right now I'm majoring in journalism. UNC has a fantastic School of Journalism and Mass Communication. My sequence is public relations.
Have you ever been to Chapel Hill? If not, you have an open invitation from me. It is the ultimate college town. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first two and a half years and I'm sure that my last year and a half will be even better. (Yes, Dad, I WILL get out of here in four years!)
- Pictured above: Spring at UNC is GORGEOUS! Here is UNC's famous Old Well.
This fall I started working as a student assistant at the University's Sports Information Office. I have had the chance to work with several incredible people, and have learned a great deal about athletic media relations. I LOVE my job! Since I'm a sports lover, this job is perfect for me! How else could I work with all of UNC's amazing athletic teams?
"We Are Family..."
I love my family very much.
I'm the daughter of Wink and Sandy Schairer. I have and older sister, Cindy, and an older brother, Steve. My sister lives in Lawrenceville, GA, and my brother is currently stationed at Camp Lejune, NC. Fortunately, I get to see my brother often. However, I don't see my sister as much as I would like. (See a picture of my sister and me at a Tarheel football game. GO HEELS!)
"I'm a Tarheel born, I'm a Tarheel bred, and when I die I'm Tarheel dead"
As I've already said before, I LOVE CAROLINA! Part of the reason that I'm so happy here is because of the wonderful friends I've made here. I'm part of a huge family-the
sorority Delta Zeta. My sisters are the coolest! I spend a ton of time with my sorority sisters. This may be cheesey, but I know a lot of them will be my lifelong friends. Meet Kyla Lamborn. Kyla is one of my best friends.
I'd also like to introduce you to Hassan El Faysal, one of my good buds, and Heather Overfield, my former roomie and fellow PR major.
