Family

Mom and me
When people meet my mom for the first time,
they always say that she gave me her spirit and her smile.
Mom has a love for the horses, for our many dogs,
for gardening and for sewing majorette outfits,
as she did for me for all the years that I twirled baton competitively.
Susan riding Chatica as Dad gives instructions

This photo, taken in 1997 by my brother Marc,
truly captures the relationship I have with my Dad.
I am pictured here riding Chatica, a national champion.
Notice dad's hand as he gives me instructions during an evening practice
at a horse show. See the intensity on my face as I absorb his words.
Dad's love always proves to me one fact: if I follow his guidance,
he will do his best to never lead me astray.

Steve Jr. and his wife Marsha
Steve Jr., my oldest brother, is married to Marsha, and they have two bright children named Trey and Meredith. Steve has remained quite the tennis pro throughout his lifetime, ranking in the state. Marsha works hard with her two kids, keeping them active and involved in school, sports and extracurricular activities.
Chan, Lori, Jordan and Hunter
My brother Chan married Lori when I was just a small child only seven years old.
I became an aunt at the age of eight when Jordan, pictured on the left was born.
A few years later Hunter came along and their family was complete.
These boys (Chan included) love hunting, fishing, golf and motorcycles.
I often wonder how Lori puts up with it all!
Marc and Susan at the Carrousel Thanksgiving Day Pageant

Marc, who is also a graduate from the UNC-Chapel Hill,
is a year and a half older than me.
We're pictured together after a scholarship pageant
that I participated in as a representative for my high school.
Marc now works for the family business in Greenville, S.C.
