I was born in
Kolomna,
Moscow region,
Russia. This is not a very big town of about 170,000 citizens.
It is situated on the banks of three rivers: Oka,
Moscow-river and Kolomenka.
This is not only scenic place but also
ancient historical center with Kremlin, monasteries and churches.
I obtained an MSc degree in Mathematics and Computer Science in 1995 at
Kolomna State University.
In 1999 I obtained PhD in Mathematics at Moscow
Pedagogical University.
From 1999 to 2002 I worked in Kolomna State
University.
Now I am living in Chapel Hill, North Carolina
and working at
University of North Carolina.
The Town of Chapel Hill is nestled in the
rolling, wooded hills of North Carolina. It's ideally
situated in the state, three hours from the coast and
three hours from the mountains,
approximately equidistant between
Washington and Atlanta.
The Town, which was incorporated in 1819, presently
covers an area of 21.04 square miles and has a population
of 51,598. The Town is the home of the University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the nation's oldest
public university, established in 1789.
Located just twenty minutes from the Chapel Hill area is the
Research Triangle Park.
The Research Triangle itself is named for the
Triangle formed by the three universities:
Duke University at Durham, the University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill,
and North Carolina State University in Raleigh.
Founded in 1959, The Research Triangle
Park is the fourth-oldest research park in the U.S., covers about
6,900 acres.
The Research Triangle hosts a total of sixteen, two and four year
colleges/universities, and
two technical community colleges. Located at two of the major
universities, both UNC Hospitals and Duke University Medical Center
have top-notch medical facilities and are easily accessible from any
part of the Triangle.
