Zippori. Colonnaded Street
The hill of Zippori, 189 meters (950 feet) high, is located in Lower Galilee.
Zippori was a major 2nd/3rd century city. The excavations at
Zippori National Park were carrted out in 1931.
East of the hill, a grid of streets was discovered from the Roman period.
There are two colonnaded streets formed a cross in the center. The roadbeds were
paved with hard limestone , while the colonnaded walkways (stoae) along their verges
had mosaic floors.
