Briefly surveys various occasions in the medieval university, especially in the theology faculty, where sermons were required to be preached.  Then concentrates on sermons in praise of the Bible, or Peter the Lombard, or theology, and discusses five such <i>introitus</i> sermons found uniquely in Worcester Cathedral MS. F.10.  Finally, one of them, on the thema "Lignum vitae in medio paradisi," is edited in full.
