The Undergraduate Advisor in the economics department is Dr. Stephen Lich-Tyler. I am a general advising resource for students majoring in economics, considering an economics major, or taking economics courses. In particular, I can:

• provide detailed information about the economics major or economics courses;
• assist you with academic planning and course selection;
• check your progress toward completing the major requirements;
• help you navigate through various administrative processes;
• discuss career and internship opportunities;
• offer advice on graduate and professional schools; and
• discuss any other questions or concerns that you may have.

I am available for advising meetings throughout summer 2011.

During summer 2011, you have three ways to contact me for advising:

• in my office at Steele Building or Gardner Hall;
• online voice (or text) chat, using Skype; or
• email. (Please realize that scheduled in-person and online meetings take priority over email exchanges.)

For in-person meetings: I encourage you to schedule a meeting using the Academic Advising Program's Appointment Calendar. You will need to select "major/minor advising" for economics. The times when I am usually available are listed below. (I will, however, be out of town during the week of July 4th.) Other times can be arranged, as necessary. I am also available for drop-in visits during these hours.

• Wednesdays, 11:00 - 3:00, first floor of Steele Building
• Fridays, 1:00 - 4:00, Gardner Hall, Room 101A
