Vote Ronda Taylor for Homecoming Queen!

*About Me

I am from Goldston, North Carolina, a small town in Chatham County. I attended Chatham Central High School in Bear Creek, NC, where I graduated Salutatorian of my class. I have one older sister, Robin, and a younger brother, Eric, who is a junior at North Carolina State University. Robin has a three year old little girl named Jaisen. My parents are divorced, but through God's grace, both are actively involved in my life.

Before coming to Carolina, I received the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Scholarship and the Bill and Melinda Gates Millennium Scholarship. They have paved the way for me to attend Carolina on a free ride. While at UNC, I have participated in the following organizations and volunteer programs:

--Central Committee for BSM
--Minority Advisor
--Planning Committee for the Annual Let's Talk R.A.C.E. Conference
--Site Coordinator for Communiversity Through the Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Black Culture and History
--Club Basketball: Treasurer
--Tutor for School Reading Partners and Carolina Cancer Focus
--Host for Prep 4 Prep
--Minority Student Recruitment Committee
--General Alumni Association

After graduation, I plan to attend the MAT program for Masters in Teaching, for English, at UNC or Wake Forest University. Then, I would like to teach middle school language arts in Durham. I eventually want to end up teaching in a high school. I would love to have the opportunity to possibly coach a women's basketball State Championship team.
