In the London Underground riders are continually reminded to "Mind the Gap" when leaving -- that space between the subway car and the platform. The gap can be wide or narrow, steep or level, but there is almost always a noticable gap.

I liked the phrase the moment I heard it. To me, the gap was that distance between where you were and where you wanted to be, whether it was physical location, knowledge desired or moment just before artistic expression takes place. It's the distance between dreams and making those dreams reality.

Sometimes it lasts for long periods of time, other times it's only fleeting. But there is still a gap.

And that gap is definitely something to be minded.
