Dawn was colonized by the Imperial Ministry of Defense in 2299. It became the site of a training academy for the elite units of the Imperial Army. In 2338, a new facility was constructed which would enable a large percentage of Imperial troops to train on one world. Dawn City was converted into a metropolis of almost 3 million and served to support the giant military installation of almost 1 million troops. Dawn was invaded by the Southern Alliance in 2342 and its capital held under siege until 2343. The city suffered countless bombardments and a nuclear detonation during the Sunrise War before General John Paul Windsor emerged victorious against the Southern Alliance. New military facilities and New Dawn City have been constructed some three hundred miles from the war’s blast zone, now a radioactive wilderness. The population has risen to 6 million, a third of which are soldiers. |
