Lenelis was colonized in 2279 by Feresil. The planet, Feresil’s sister world, offered such similar habitats that the Feresite government easily approved the request to expand its culture outward. However, the colony started out in trouble. Few shipments of vital products such as electronics and grain made the first years at Lenelis severe and difficult for the few settlers. In the winter of 2335, a plague broke out within several of the settlements and the planet was quarantined by Imperial order. By 2336, only some 20,000 of the original 350,000 settlers were still living. It was the introduction of new agricultural techniques which made the colony’s survival possible thereafter. Recently, Lenelis has experienced a population explosion and has become mostly self-sufficient. |
