Leptax University is located at the heart of Grand Crystalline, where the enormous power of its megacomputers can be drawn off the central metallic lode of the mountain.  The university is responsible for having developed many higher technologies at very early periods in interstellar history.  Its renowned research facilities have contributed to both the theoretical and applied sciences, as well as driven the efforts of the Leptaxian Civil Engineering Division.  The University was expanded dramatically by the Emperor Mélas Dornos, and Ivan Romanov lectured there from 2315 until 2317.
