I'm currently a lecturer in
the philosophy
department at Vanderbilt
University; starting in
August, I will be a visiting assistant professor in the philosophy department at Virginia
Tech. My main reaserch areas
are in epistemology, and the
philosophy of language/mind. I also have
secondary interests in logic, 17th & 18th
century
philosophy, and the history of analytic philosophy. You can find some
of what I've written HERE.
I was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin on 24 September 1975, and
in 1988 moved to Arizona where I attended Brophy College Prep, an all-boys
Jesuit school in Phoenix. I then went to the University of Portland (Oregon) where I
received my B.A. in English and Philosophy in 1998. In 2000 I received
an M.A. in philosophy
from Indiana University, Bloomington,
and in 2002 received my second M.A. in philosophy from the University of North Carolina, Chapel
Hill. Also at UNC, I defended my Ph.D. thesis in May 2009,
under the direction of William
G. Lycan.
