What We're About

The trout band is a 4 piece ensemble which plays an ecclectic mix of musical styles including blues, bluegrass, jazz, zydeco, world music, as well as classical. We focus on nurturing a strong danceable groove and textured melodies to support lyrical thoughtfulness and vocal harmony. The instrumentation is as diverse as its selection of musical styles. Very often during the course of a trout band show, you will hear the four of us play on seven different instruments including, banjo, bass, dobro-style guitar , guitar, harmonica, and violin. This not only provides different voices for us to communicate, but also is visually active. Most of all, the Trout Band likes to play, and it shows.
