ASHEBORO CIVITAN CLUB HELPS COMMUNITY MEMBERS THROUGH MANUAL LABOR

The Asheboro Civitan Club cut, spilt, and loaded firewood on Saturday, November 3, that will be donated to local families in need or sold to help fund local programs. “We planned this event as a hands-on project to help families in need over the winter who can’t afford fuel, wood, or electricity for heat,” said Asheboro Civitan’s newly appointed president, Scot Little. Thirteen Asheboro Civitans and three volunteers participated in this event.

The Asheboro Civitan Club, established in 1949, is a civic organization that works year-round to help members of the community and other service organizations including: the Special Olympics, Hospice, the Red Cross, and the Soup Kitchen, by volunteering and raising money.

The club consists of 25 members who want to make a difference in their community. The members meet on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at Zeko’s Italian Restaurant for an informative program and dinner, and visitors are also welcome to attend.
