Bibliography

The two print bibliographies of Chomsky's work available in Davis Library are listed below. Other Chomsky bibliographies available on the World Wide Web appear in the Web Resources section.

Koerner, K., Tajima, M., & Otero, C. P. (1986). Noam Chomsky: a personal bibliography, 1951-1986. Amsterdam, Philadelphia: John Benjamins Publishing Company.
Davis (8th floor stacks) Z8168.18 .R35 1984

Compiled with input from Chomsky and some of his associates and from prior bibliographies, this book lists works published by Chomsky between 1951 and 1980. It is conveniently divided into three sections: one for Chomsky's writings in linguistics, one for his political work, and one for interviews. In the appendix is a list of students who prepared dissertations under Chomsky's supervision, along with an introduction by Otero, who compiled the list. This is a unique resource that may also prove useful to researchers.

Ramaiah, L., & Chandra, T. P. (1984). Noam Chomsky: a bibliography. India: Academic Press.
Davis (8th floor stacks) Z8168.18 .K63 1986

This is a bibliography of writings by and about Chomsky in the field of linguistics; it is among the sources used in the compilation of Koerner and Tajima's bibliography. While the list of Chomsky's own writings is not unique, and more current information is available in Koerner and Tajima and through the Web, the section of writings about Chomsky may be useful for those interested in further Chomsky-related readings in linguistics.
