A humanist approach to instructional technology insists that people and pedagogy are more important than computers and cables. We must develop and maintain a critical approach to teaching with technology that persistently asks, "Are the machines enhancing the types of teaching and learning we want? Or, is the cart in front of the horse: Is the imperative to simply teach with computers is much stronger than motivation to use them to promote humanistic inquiry?"
