This is just a beginning. I have a few photos, I'll put in now. More on the actual trip later.
A view of the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden State Park
This next one does deserve a bit of an explanation... I was at a conference and some fellow conference goers and I finally decided the hotel put out pigeons in our rooms instead of chocolates. When I arrived, I was hot and tired and so opened the sliding glass door to let some cooler air in. After putting away a few things, I closed the sliding glass door and went to one of the conference sessions. Upon my return to my room, I found a pigeon staring at me from the floor! I finally positioned myself so that I could open the sliding glass door and not spook the pigeon and he flew out, but not before leaving a small present in the middle of the floor. (A pretty unappealing present, I might add.) I talked about this in the next conference session. That evening, a friend and I were planning to go to the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden State Park. As we were dropping things off in my room, someone from the conference called us and said he had a pigeon in his room, too! His pigeon, however, had left a more appealing gift--an egg!
