The
Berlin Wall still exists in people’s minds. There are holes in it where
glimpses of the two cultures meet, like Ostalgie. However, the division remains,
deeper than when there was a physical barrier keeping the people separate. Thoughts
and attitudes are much harder to tear down than a wall. It will take a long
time before the Berlin Wall is truly destroyed, where it has no impact on the
daily lives of the people of Germany.
