Mark W. Fraser, Ph.D.
Mark W. Fraser, Ph.D., M.S.W., holds the John A. Tate Distinguished Professorship for Children in Need and serves as the interim director of the Jordan Institute for Families at the School of Social Work, University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. In addition, he leads the Carolina Children's Initiative (CCI), an early intervention program for high risk children and their families. As a part of the CCI, Dr. Fraser is developing and testing cognitive problem-solving and home-based family interventions. He has written numerous articles and chapters on children's services, family preservation, and delinquency. With colleagues, he is the author of two books, Families in Crisis and Evaluating Family-Based Services. His most recent book, Risk and Resilience in Childhood, was published in February, 1997.
